Greetings Family & Friends,

TGIF!  Hope everyone had an amazing Friday!  3 more days till the challenge group will begin.  I’m was planning to start my 3 Day Detox on Wednesday but it looks like I will begin on Tuesday since it’s more structured & routine.  Today, I’m finding it harder to focus on a Friday since I don’t have to rest early for work.  Fridays has always been tough or made it an off night before when I was in the thick of my workouts from April of this year.  Even though I did my exercises today, I was just bored and snacked here and there.  Especially, tonight the Vancouver Canucks play the Arizona Coyotes.  More time to stay awake and chill.

I’m going to keep it short today since sleep is starting to hit me.  The wife is at work so I will be putting the boys to sleep tonight.  My birthday will be this Monday and I’m planning to spend that time getting the challenge group started.  I will be doing my orientation so they know what to expect.  Trying to talk to a few of my friends about it so I can fill up the last 2 spots for this challenge group.  People know their body and how it will react to a workout.  But over time you will get stronger each day and will be able to handle it.  It just requires discipline to stay on the program for 3 weeks.  Just how I’m feeling for more than 2 weeks now by constantly exercising everyday.  I’m getting stronger and doing more workouts.  Its just a matter of time when I can get to the intense workout.

Try something new today.  You never know and might enjoy  it.  If you are happy with yourself then keep doing what you are doing to stay happy.  But if you are looking for change then you must explore and try something.  Answers will arrive when you keep consistent towards your dreams.  It’s about breaking bad habits and replacing them with good ones.  Hope everyone has the very best this weekend.  Children will be out and about so be very careful driving.  They are the future and guiding light when we decide to retire.  Happy Halloween & Trick or Treat!

God Bless,

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope you had an amazing day!  It was a short day at work for me because I had to take Trevor to his allergy test in Downtown.  So pleased to say that he isn’t allergic to tuna.  At least he can eat some seafood.  Now to move on to the next 10+ tests he needs to do in the future.  Wasn’t able to weigh myself this morning because the rush to get from New Westminster to Downtown in 30 mins.  Hopefully, I can tackle a bit today.  I’ve already did 1 hr worth of exercise so far.  There is a Canucks @ Stars game tonight so I’ll be getting a few hours of sleep tonight.  Luckily, the game started at 5:30 PM then the usual 7 PM start.  Will be trying to get some 10 min workouts between periods.

Counting the days for the November Challenge Group. 4 more days to go and I am in full swing.  I will begin the detox on November 4th – 6th but the rest of the group will begin on the 9th for the 3 week Workout program.  It is one of the popular programs because it creates early wins & a new habit to get healthy.  You don’t have to think of the big picture of a 30 – 90 day program.  You just need to get through 3 weeks & repeat it again when you need to.  I did 5 rounds of it and lost 37 lbs.  That wasn’t being super strict on myself.  I had an off day once a week for birthday parties or celebrations.  The month that of December, I managed to lose 5 lbs despite attending 5+ Christmas parties.  And to top it all off, I was ready to go to start the New Year.  While the people around still had the festive hangover, I was getting stuff done and challenging myself more.  Once you get through the first week and then the first round you have a system in place you can insert to your daily routine.  My coach who introduced me to the program helped me get through that tough first week & after completing the first round I kept going.  I was working out for 63 days straight so that was 3 rounds.  I forced myself to take a day off because the trainer that created the program recommended to take a day off between rounds.

I’m still far from mastering myself but I do continue to work hard & build myself.  People have seen the results & complement me on the physical changes but it wasn’t easy to begin with.  Once you get through it & learn it then you are on your way to bigger & greater things.  It comes from a choice, “Do you like where you are now?” or “Is there a chance you can be or do better?”  Only you can make that decision but a decision must be made and a forward action must be taken.  Just don’t be the person who doesn’t take action but still has a right to complain nothing good is coming their way.  If you put the same passion to what you love to do towards learning/experiencing something new than you are on your way toward something amazing.  Keep growing mentally & physically healthy and all those decisions that you’ve made will surely pay off!

God Bless,

Bad Habits be Gone!

“Bad Habits are easier to abandon today than tomorrow.” – Yiddish Proverb

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone had a wonderful day.  My friend mentioned to me this morning, “Too bad it is raining.”  My response to him was, “At least, the grass is a lot greener.”  It’s all about prospective. Look at the negative or turn the day around and make the best out of it.  A half glass full point of view.  On the other side of things though, two of my friends lost love ones in the late evenings of Tuesday.  I pray for them and their love ones for strength and togetherness in this very difficult time.  They pushed through the day despite the memories that were going through their heads & I have a huge respect for that.  Remembering the memories & the happiness is the way to get through it all.  They live long within the memories created & that will bring them peace knowing that they were loved and that we will survive.  We have to be the strength to those that will need the help.

I spent the afternoon sleeping with Tristan so that the wife can get stuff done & buy some Tuna for Trevor’s allergy test tomorrow.  This is why I’m posting now.  Hopefully, it will be a negative reaction since he can’t have cod, salmon & shellfish.  He has been such a trooper & still enjoy life.  Catching up on all my tasks and trying to finish my book by Saturday so I can take it off the bucket list.  Today was leg days so it’s my toughest workout.  It is funny that running was my high school passion and it’s my weakest component.  I will be skipping abs today since it is getting late. After doing the P90X version yesterday, I really need it… lol.  At least, I’m making some weight progress today from 186.1 lbs to 185.6 lbs.  It will be really intense next Wednesday when I do the 3 Day detox.  I’ve lost over 9 lbs with that program alone so it will be a huge boost to me physically and most importantly, mentally.  I need that motivational boost to get the momentum going even further.

The challenge group will be starting next week and I’m so looking forward to share my story & create new success stories.  So far we will be a group of challengers and looking for 2 more and close the group for the entire month of November.  I will dedicate my time & focus to them and hopefully they will enjoy and do it again for December and so forth.  Less than 5 more days to go and we go live with the challenge group.  It will be super fun, like my hiking group and it will be a team effort.  It is a matter of choice and abandoning Bad Habits today is the start of a journey towards a better you.  It is easy to go back to it when no one is looking but having a group keeps you accountable & motivated.  We all have days that we can’t give our 100 % but with a group you get back on track.  I found that made the biggest difference on this journey to break through stuff I usually give up on or never attempt.  We can talk ourselves out of doing it and agreed with it but as a group with unique individuals you have a choice to stay in your ‘Comfort Zone’ or empower others by challenging yourself.  Your success matter and you may not know it, what you do does matter.  You can do this!

God Bless!

Greetings Family & Friends,

Still feeling the effects from my cold.  Running nose & itchy throat.  Looks like my wife is starting to have the same symptoms.  But we did managed to workout today.  I did my 30 mins so far & she did her 10 min abs.  I’ll be doing my abs, strength training & hopefully some yoga during the Canucks vs Canadians hockey game.  Hopefully, it will be televised or else I will be working out with rage…. lol.  Can’t believe Shaw went down this road to force their customers to have a box.  Anyways, hockey & Income Property are the only shows I watch on TV.

Next week I will begin my challenge group.  Looking forward to getting into the full swing of it.  It will be my birthday on the 2nd but I will begin the 3 day detox program on the 4th.  That program alone helped me lose 9 lbs.  Amazing stuff.  It won’t be easy but if you can get through that then the next 21 days will be a little more easy.  I managed to lose 1.6 lbs from yesterday.  I was 187.7 lbs and this morning I weighed at 186.1 lbs.  We’ll see what my weight will be when November 4th rolls in.  My goal is to get to 150 lbs by February when I make my visit and hopefully last to the Healthy Heart Program at St Paul’s Hospital.  My last visit in August didn’t turn out too well.  Only lost 1 lbs and my blood work went up slightly.  All I can was that it was an awesome summer… lol.

It’s wonderful to have a variety of active activities.  But you really get results when you dedicate 30 mins of your time to a continuous workout/activity.  We tend to relax once discomfort starts to hit so we don’t really make significant progress.  Plus, a balanced and well portioned meal will boost those results even further.  I’m going to push myself even more with this challenge group and I’m looking forward to the results with my challengers.  It will be an informative discussion & most importantly a positive & supportive group.  I will share what I’ve been doing to help me lose 37 lbs in 5 months & all the other goodies that helped me go further.  It won’t be easy depending on your fitness level but after a month you will be totally different from when you first started.  The knowledge & experience is forever yours. Once you give it your best for the entire month of November no one can take it away from you.  It’s your health & it’s living the most of each day given.

“We are all inventors… guided each by a private chart, of which there is no duplicate.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone had an amazing day!  Despite getting a sore throat & stuffed up nose I was able to get my exercise in today.  Actually, I just finished up on a 16 min abs workout.  Wanna get it in before I feel the full effect of the cold.  I’m going to try to squeeze in some strength & yoga before I retire for the night.  I didn’t do too well with my diet on the weekend and weighed in at 187.7 lbs.  Hopefully, a few pounds of that is water from the soreness of my muscles.  This weekend wasn’t the most productive for exercise and getting some tasks done.  But it is also rare to have the family together to enjoy some togetherness & a few movies.

On another topic, I’m not hoping this is them theme starting the week but it is part of life.  An unavoidable part of nature but something we must all face in life.  Like I mentioned before, my friend & his family down in the US faced an incident that effected them.  Just this morning my friend lost a family member & my heart & prayers goes out to her to get through this tough times.  Another friend’s mother-in-law isn’t doing well either.  It’s plastered on the news, radio & other forms of communications to showing death here & killings there.  As much as we don’t want to spend time on the topic we must face it one day.  We can only control what we decide to do with our life.  Especially, a preventative health plan to keep healthy as best as we can.  We aren’t at our primes anymore with our bodies & it takes a little longer to burn calories.  We must do our best to change our way of life before it is too late.

We are the architects of our journey & the inventors of how we’ll plan to get healthy again.  Everyone is different so we need to try things to see what works.  We can’t give up the fight to be healthy for ourselves & for our love ones.  We are all getting older & all we can do is slow it down by taking charge of our fitness plans.  Our community that we grew up with are also getting older so each one of us are getting closer to our individual day.  All we can do is work our plans of fitness & eating right & encourage our love ones to join us on this mission.  Having a coach helped me get through the first round of my 1st program & I took charge of my life.  I’m hoping that you will join me on this November 2015 Challenge group.  It’s isn’t about losing the weight & getting healthier & fit but about creating memories & empowerment.  That is my goal and hopefully I create a community of people taking control of their health & fitness.  We are heading on a new stage of our life & people that we expect to be there might not be there anymore.  Value the time given & make the most of it.  If you guys can get fit together, power to you & your love ones.  Be the one to create the culture in your community & create a movement!

“Happiness does not consist in pastimes and amusements but in virtuous activities.” – Aristotle

Greetings Family and Friends,

Hope everyone had an awesome day today.  Today my wife was off so today was family day & nothing can’t be more happier than being with the ones you love.  I was blessed another day to tell my wonderful family how much I love them.  Anything can happen in a fraction of a second.  I hope each day we have the chance to tell our love ones how much we love them.  Last night hit a note with me when a friend of mine in the US experienced an incident in his community.  The experience was an eye opener & the I pray for the people that there.  Through challenges I pray that they will rise up together & draw strength.

What will we do on this day forward?  Time is a precious asset.  How do you use your time?  Do you use it why things are the way they are?  Or do you use it to uplift people?  Life is truly short so you should make the most of it.  It shouldn’t be a one person journey but one that includes the people that are close to your heart.  If you treat people with love & respect your journey will be part of their journey.  When life hits you,  you will rise up but it will also be more awesome when family & friends lend a hand to help you up faster.

I’m really blessed with my journey & progress.  Life has been so much better & easier when I share my story.  The motivation & support has made this journey worth doing & I thank everyone that has reached out & showed their support.  I am really humbled with your kind words & hope I can do my very best to push my limits & create new baselines.   Life will throw a curve ball at you but once you accept that it is part of your growth then you will rise up faster & inspire those to rise up with you.  It takes one person to make that decision to break through & everyone in their community will rise up with them.

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday.  I spent mine with my two sons, Trevor & Tristan.  Was able to get majority of my tasks done earlier in the day especially my workouts & self development.  One of my goals I want to get done is finishing a book by the end of this month.  I’m not a big reader but I want to create those little wins that will become those big win down the road.  I’m halfway done and was planning to tackle a few more chapters.  Tristan has been very clingy this week especially today.  He wanted us to hold him & didn’t want to play today.  He slept most of the day but wanted to be held.  As soon as I try to put him down, he starts to cry.  I’ll try to get more done tomorrow but made a big progress with my workouts. Almost an entire hour worth of cardio, strength, abs & recovery.

I’m enjoying my Shakeology a lot.  It has helped me stay on track & discipline in my routines.  It has become a part of my life and morning routine.  Without it, I would have more likely have a huge breakfast & not the healthy sort.  If you give the body what it needs then it will not be searching for those daily nutrients so I’m very thankful on how it has helped me on my transformation.  It really does take heart, mind and soul to be passionate about anything.  If you love doing something and master something, it will take your entire being to be the best at it.  Especially, when it comes to your health.  You can’t only have one part devoted towards your health.  You have to commit to the full program of exercising & eating right.  And it will take your entire being to stay committed to it because it isn’t just 30 days, 60 days or 90 days.  This is a lifestyle change that will be a part of the rest of your life.

You have to truly love your craft.  You need to really specialize in one aspect of your craft/industry.  That is where the huge rewards & time will come from.  It is okay to dabble in search or enhance your craft but don’t live life being the ‘Jack of all trades but master of none.’  Find out where you want to be and find out what part of it you want to devote your heart, mind and soul into it.  You will be the person people will turn to for answers because you will become a specialist, a master!  But behind that you must really love doing it and that is why I enjoy doing the workouts, seeing results & seeing others succeed in their health goals.  My coach got me through the first week & that has made the biggest difference in why it worked out so well for me.  I wasn’t alone & no one should be alone in their battle.  I enjoy this and this will be my craft!

“Good habits are worth being fanatical about.” – John Irving

Greetings Family & Friends,

Good news, Tristan is feeling a lot better today.  In fact, he is still up and outlasted his Kuya, Trevor!  I was planning to write this as soon as he falls asleep but better done then tomorrow.  Fridays are usually my kryptonite because it’s just a day to unwind even when I was at my best in April.  I will usually just do one workout and relax from a week of pushing myself.  I managed to get another 30 min Cardio session in today.  Took me awhile to work myself into it though but I got it done.  Didn’t feel to much soreness from yesterday but it was there.  The core hurts when I stretch and my thighs get sore on the lunges & burpees.  The strength training I am doing everyday with my Tower Gym is helping me out get through the exercise.  My push-ups still need some work but I’m happy.

It’s about creating good habits.  Sure the thought of the pain and sweat tries to convince me otherwise about my workouts but I want those abs & I want to challenge myself on a marathon or another obstacle course.  Creating good habits creates great results and you gotta be fanatic about what these habits will do for you if you stay consistent to it.  It is easy to know what happens if you do nothing or listen to those inner voices.  We have experience of giving in to ourself.  It’s the easiest way out or know how to do when the going gets tough.  But you have to realize what do you have to lose if you just do a little bit at a time each day.  Going back is easy but you are just half way there to making a breakthrough.  You have to want it more to have the results you always wanted.

Do what works and build upon it.  Use the Kaizen approach and develop parts of your game at a time.  We tend to do everything at once and just get burned out if the results don’t come right after that grind.  It’s a long journey to success and a never ending one.  Don’t make it a one time thing but something that needs to be attained by developing yourself to a newer version of you.  Tinker with your line-up, your game plan or routine till you fine the right balance that will develop those good habits that one day become second nature.  You are being condition to become successful in the future.  Rome wasn’t built in a day so isn’t your success.  It won’t happen over night but know that each day that you commit to your growth you will create a life that will become bigger than you imagine.  You just have to want it more!

Greeting Family & Friends,

Will keep this post very short.  Tristan’s fever came back later this afternoon and still is hot & weak.  Just catching up on my tasks before I retire for the night.  The wife is off work today so he will be in good hands.  I had the afternoon with him so she can do some tasks.  I just pray and hope the medicine will work and he will be happy & playful like this morning.

I did a 30 min workout for the 1st time in weeks.  It was tough but I wasn’t dying also so that is a good sign that all those 10 min workouts are adding up.  And I tackled it early so I would have room to add more.  I will see how I will feel the next day. Hopefully, I won’t hurt too much… lol.  So my energy level is going up & I would have gotten a lot done today.  But my son is my world so all else will have to pause.  Please pray for my boy that he will get healthy.

“All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make, the better.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Greetings Family & Friends,

Had a great day at work. When you are on your game, you are on your game!  Sleeping straight does help a lot. Felt good first thing in the morning and didn’t feel like hitting that snooze button.  It was a experiment to try something different to see if it will benefit myself or not.  For this experiment of changing my sleep time, it helped me rest better and last me the whole day.  Just got a little sleepy at the end of my shift because everything was on time and done.

Still need to improve on my performance once I get home.  I’m hoping that this pre-workout product that I bought from my online store will make a difference in charging me up and tackling the rest of my day.  Probably might come in next week around this time.  Gotta try anything to make my days complete and flow.  Since my shifts are graveyard, it is like having two different days. And since our beloved 5th season has started, hockey, I need to adjust my sleeping habits to watch our beloved game.

Today Tristan had a fever so I had to reverse my sleep today.  I felt really sad for the little guy because he always has a smile on his face and his eyes are usually wide from having fun.  He was just so hot & just laid in my arms this afternoon. It just make you wanna work harder to improve the situation.  I just pray that he will get better very soon.

We must continue to grow.  That is our purpose of our life is to be better than we were yesterday.  If we aren’t growing each day then we are just dying.  Life will continue to evolve around us and if we don’t make the necessary changes then we will be swept up and left behind.  One of the fundamentals of life and to succeed in life is to continue to improve yourself.  The constant pursuit of self improving is a must to survive, improve & maintain your way of living.  It won’t come to you. You must take action to attain the knowledge, skills & put it into action.  This includes being healthy & training yourself to be at your peak performance.  When life decides to throw a curve ball at you then you will be ready mentally & physically to hit it out of the park!
