The virtue lies in the struggle, not in the prize.

Greetings Family & Friends,
TGIF! Hope everyone is having an awesome Friday. It was a tough day at work today and yesterday but I survived. Hard to get by with a few people off work but you still have to persevere through it. It has been a tough week getting my workouts done. I missed Monday and I missed yesterday also. Was very close to missing today’s 10 km run but luckily a member of my Challenge Group motivated me to get off my arse! Thank you, Rob!
The wife was off yesterday so we went out and bought a few things. Ended up getting exhausted from the little trip. Took a little nap again that ended up being waking up for work. I did ended up getting my daily 10,000+ steps in but a 30 min workout gets you that much closer to becoming more better each day. I’m just happy that I was able to do my 10 KM run today. I missed Wednesday’s 10 KM run but did my Lower Fix workout to compensate. Today, I was close to beating my record. I was ahead for 3/4 of my run. I just fell apart on the final 2.4 km of my run. Ended up finishing 1:00:50. It was a real struggle and I was light headed from it. When you miss workouts, you lose momentum.
I’m glad it didn’t ended up being 2 days of inactivity. A challenge group is the way to go to stay on track. If you don’t have a buddy or a group to workout with it makes it so much harder to see it through till the end. I was very close to missing today but my challenge group member, Rob. Got through me with his post and I laced it up and hit the pavement. Find someone that wants to workout with you or someone that is already working out. Following someone that is committed helps build that positive habit that will change your lifestyle and most importantly your health. Challenge groups have helped me a lot so find one that makes sense to you.
