“When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.” – Steve Maraboli

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone had a wonderful TGIF!  I know this post is a late but that just meant I had an awesome TGIF with my family.  Just wanted to start this Saturday morning off with this post and just have a positive frame of mind for the rest of the day.  Time really flies by when you are having fun.  Especially, this month which is my favorite month of the year.  What is also fun this year was participating in the Movember Foundation cause towards prostate cancel and other medical issues that effect men’s health.  If you knew that it was this month last year that I started my journey to becoming healthy and fit.  I wanted to promote the advantages of taking care of yourself more and the opportunities it opens if you do.  I am happy of such an amazing 1st year I had when I made the pivotal decision.

We should begin each day with a smile and thanking the universe or what we individually believe in for a brand new day and opportunity.  At the end we want to serve a higher purpose so we should be confident that the day is blessed with joys and happiness.  It is truly up to us how we create our day and how we learn from it.  People around us would like to rain down on happiness and joys but it will be our thoughts and reactions that will determine the outcome.  Don’t let it consume us with a negative mindset but thank the experience that it brings and a new stepping stone to move forward.  Every challenge we face are there to develop us and not destroy us if you let it.  That is what makes us unique and unknowingly inspires other to rise up.  There are already too many fears in the world created by people and have consumed many people to stay where they are.  Don’t let it rule your life and control your own destiny.

I’m happy that with what I’ve accomplished this month and can’t wait for next month to start another challenge group.  Next month is a month to propel us into next year.  It is a month of joy and happiness and when the human spirit is at its strongest.  Sadly, it isn’t happening year round but it is up to us to keep that spirit going for us, those we love and for our community.  A smile a day can make the difference to someone’s life.  It can relax someone’s soul and make them realize that today is just another day or that moment doesn’t have to effect the rest of the day.  You don’t have to do much to help someone.  A simple smile and a greeting can be the difference of someone’s journey.  Let’s end this wonderful month of Movember with a smile and greeting everyone we run into.

God Bless,

Ryan Jarata

“I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.” – Michael Jordan

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone is enjoying a their ‘Throw Back Thursday”!  I was scared to share my pictures and face judgement and embarrassment but then I realize now that that was then and I’m striving to be a new person now.  These pictures are my before picture of 2014 of November 23 just the day before I started my journey.  I was at 206 lbs at the time and not sure if this was going to work but I was willing to try for my health and my family.

20141123_201559 20141123_201623 20141123_201919

November 23, 2014 @ 206 lbs

Let’s say it has been an amazing and empowering experience to finish 2014 and a spectacular 2015 ride!  I’ve met new friends & reconnected with family on this journey, tried outdoor activities that I’ve never done before, and been in the best shape I’ve ever been in a long time.  There are still parts of me that still won’t change, like enjoying the moment with friends & family, especially in my culture food is the center of the entertainment.  But with the experiences and knowledge I’ve gained, I can be proactive with my days and just work that extra hard to stay on track.  It’s keeping a balance of enjoying life but still progressing into the future.

What an amazing quote from Michael Jordan.  We all fail at one point especially at the beginning in what we specialize in.  I know I’ve failed multiple times on this journey but when you can reach a low time in your life, humbly learn about it and still decide to stick to it then I believe you are now on your way to greatness.  Like looking on a stock chart, we will all have dips on our journey but as long as we are trending upwards then we can take those dips as a new starting line and accelerate to a newer high in ourselves.  We all just have to try something when it comes to our health and our development.  There will be dips on our journey but that is what helps us succeed.  You cannot have success without failure or being challenged by failure.  The world is constantly changing with technology and newer ways of doing things so we are always faced with learning something new.  We won’t get it at first but if we stick to it then we will learn it.

Rome wasn’t built in a day and so is your fitness and health.  But you just need to try as soon as possible.  The longer you stick to it the faster you will gain results in whatever you do.  We will have days when we will be off and one day may equal 3 days that you need to recover from taking a day off.  Momentum is your friend so if you can keep a streak going then do so.  Just remember that we are not only creating results but we are creating new habits and a new lifestyle change that will keep you from moving backwards.  Everyday is a new day to make the most of it.  How we utilize the 24 hrs that is given determines who will succeed and who will not.  Wake up each morning and be thankful and also remember why you are doing it.  It will propel you forward and overcome and trials and obstacles that you may face on your journey.  But once you overcome them then they won’t hinder you any longer.

“Don’t be afraid of your fears. They’re not there to scare you. They’re there to let you know that something is worth it.” – C. Joybell C.

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone had a lovely ‘Hump Day’!  Had the pleasure to relax today but the journey is still not yet over.  Gotta stay on track and keep fighting the good fight and that fight for me is my health.  It is really easy to quit and just listen to your inner voice.  Trust me!  I was lying in bed fighting with myself to stay in bed or write this post.  I guess we know who won that but I will give my other half a chance by keeping this post short again.  Some may say that my decision may be foolish but some may also say that they are inspired by my story and that is why I keep going even though none have voiced it yet.  I know that one day these will be read in the future and I can look back at my former self and thank him for all his sacrifices in really tough times.

I’m scared of the unknown.  I think we all feel that way when we have to make big decisions outside the norm of our life.  We are all use to the comfort and relaxation that we can get.  Life is busy as it is and our body truly needs the rest and relaxation to tackle another day.  But our body does breakdown and with age it is really out of our control.  All we can do is strengthen ourselves with healthy eating, exercising and living a clean active lifestyle.  We really must strife to better ourselves and give our body what it needs to stay strong longer.  Whether it is that lifestyle I just mentioned or finding ways to improve our net-worth and give us more freedom to relax and enjoy what makes us truly happy.  Adding more time towards our work or careers isn’t the solution or the solution for the rest of your life.  It maybe the solution for now but we must keep in mind where we want to end up in the end.  Should we be tired and drained when we hit our 50s, 60s or 70s or should we be enjoying our golden years?  Nothing wrong with working hard towards what we love doing and for our love ones but we need to remind ourselves of the joys of living and what is worth living for.

We are constantly being tested.  It is part of our growth and part of who we want to be in the future.  Even when gold is tested by fire to be pure.  We must go through the challenges to remind us where we currently our in life and where we need to be in the future.  Life is short as it is and using it recklessly and without an actual plan is foolish.  Stay true to what you dream about and keep that close to your heart.  Fear and having feelings is part of who we are and what makes us unique.  We can harness it in the right way and in the right direction for our future.  It maybe our source of strength at times when we have an off day and it can be our source of hope when we are about to make a breakthrough in life.  It will be our ‘True Test!”  Once you overcome your challenge and realize it will no longer hold you back then you will never return to your original self.  You are something new and something better.  The life you once knew will change for the better and you can only thank yourself for staying true to your journey and belief.

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” – NEALE DONALD WALSCH

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone had a terrific Tuesday!  It’s been challenging from the last 3 day or last Sunday to be exact.  Trying to find the energy to keep the momentum going.  As much as you want to stay in complete bliss, there are always outside forces that want to contradict.  It’s Yin & Yang, always gotta have that balance and part of life.  We don’t grow if we don’t receive challenges to reflect on and grow from.  At the end it is up to each one of us to find that inner strength to push through the storm or let it be and let it pass on by.  Just don’t let it be your road block and stop you from pushing forward.  You came so far and worked so hard to get to where you are.  We are just halfway towards reaching our goals and dreams.  Let us not undo it by quitting.  Quitting is the easiest thing to do and it can consume you and last forever.

It is easy to feel good and happy as well.  Just keep in mind and keep a proactive approach in balancing your life and what you are trying to achieve.  Does the happy and positive state you feel benefit your goals and dreams or is it actually compromising it?  Like in my state, having fast food with the family benefit my progress to keeping healthy & fit?  There should always be time put towards your family & the ones you love most but don’t put off your mission to improve yourself and the by product of that, helping your community.  You can go through life being happy or you can go through an extraordinary life by constantly improving yourself that each day that comes becomes a little bit easier.  They choice is yours.

There is no such thing as perfection.  There is always room to grow and develop.  The world is constantly changing and introducing new technology and new ways of doing things.  There will always be someone better in what you do and there will always be someone you can uplift and join you.  Strive to be that person of service but to the point it keeps you growing.  Everyone is unique and not the same.  We all have our own challenges and our own way in growing.  We must find in our own way to find the best option to achieve our goals and dreams and over come any challenge that comes our way.  Stay discipline and continue to do what you do best, even if outside forces wishes to keep you at bay.  Remember why you are truly doing this and draw strength from it and push forward.

Looks like my Family Day eating cost me dearly for Measurement Monday.  Oh well, it just means I’m going to have to finish strong this week.  I don’t have any regrets enjoying time with family because they are the reason why I’m pushing myself to my limits everyday.  It’s for the end goal of being with them every step of the way.

Tomorrow is another day to fight the good fight.  I must prove to myself that this is only the beginning for greater things in life and towards my health.  As long as you are willing to rise up again and move forward then you are just getting stronger on your journey.  Tonight, will be a short journal for I will rest and meditate for this final week of the November 2015 Challenge Group.  It was a wonderful start and things will just get better each day is committed towards being your very best.  Keep going!

Day 14 of 21: Enjoying Life!

“The grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.” – Allan K. Chalmers

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone had an amazing Sunday!  It was ‘Family Day’ for me and my family.  Had a wonderful time with the family and enjoyed every minute of it.  Started the day with my weigh-in and it was at 174.6 lbs.  I’m just shy of my goal of 2.1 goal of 172.5 lbs.  My goal is to loss 5 lbs every week but losing 2.4 lbs is still an achievement.  Tomorrow will be the 2nd Measurement Monday so it will be interesting how I did for my report card.  I know sticking to the meals this week was challenging.  Did plenty of exercise to negate most of the damage of the extra calories that I went over my daily plan so this week will be a little slower progress then last week.

Today’s quote from Allan K. Chalmers is perfect today.  What are the essentials of happiness: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.  Family Day, is always a perfect time to spend with the ones you love and hope for future happiness and memories.  The smiles on my boys faces and the joy on my loving wife’s face are priceless.  When you can deliver on what they want to do and not to worry about the financial restriction is a wonderful feeling.  Though I’m not out of the woods yet towards my goal to financial freedom, I’ve taken an active approach to stay on top of my family’s finances.  Currently, we are 5 years away from being free from consumer debt and chipping at reducing it even further.  Making more money is one thing but living within your means and putting aside for growth is a balancing act.  Open yourself to the possibilities to controlling your life.  Don’t let outside forces dictate how your family should life.   Be in control!

Enjoy each day given to you.  Live on your own terms.  Say, “I love you!” to the ones special to your life.  Thank yourself for the efforts of yesterday and live in the moment. For today, will pave the way for tomorrow and you will thank yourself again for the momentum you’ve created.  When you are in control of your time and make the most of it then your goals and dreams begin to walk towards you.  You’ve earned it and the attraction of what you strive for will be attracted to you.  Life will make ways to align with your journey and your energy.  Happiness is a strong magnet and when life can feel that power from you it just wants more of it.  Don’t settle down and don’t stop growing.  That isn’t the purpose of life to remain stagnant.  You must continue to strive to be your best, improve yourself and to be in service to the ones you love and your community.  Reaching your goals and dreams are just the by product of everyone helping you to achieve them.

Day 13 of 21: Getting it Done Early!

“Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.” – Joshua J. Marine

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday.  It started out slow for me but I’m like 3-4 hrs ahead of what I usually do on Monday to Friday.  Hence, work and Trevor’s school has a role to play in that but I started my first workout around 1 pm so that is usually the time when I workout or recover from work.  I’m continuing to grow and develop not only from my exercises but from how I do things and the most important part of this is doing the most with each 24 hours that is given.  This isn’t only about losing weight and/or getting healthier but also a lifestyle change.  It is about how you do things and re-wiring yourself for these changes that will be coming.  Think of it as a new makeover that sticks.  Not one that lasts for a day or two but something you can carry over from here on out.  That is what this program has done for me this year.  It opened a lot of doors that I don’t usually do because of my energy level and fitness.

It is true what you feed yourself.  If you think you can’t do it then that is true.  If you think you can do it then that is also true.  Only your beliefs can shape your future.  If you don’t like where you are now in life then you have a decision to make.  Are your current beliefs helping you or holding you back?  Are you doing much in your development and taking action to implement your development.  It isn’t enough to read or listen to new information on what you want to achieve but to also implement it.  Your current situation shouldn’t be your reason to not take the first step.  It should be your motivation to take the first step.  It will be challenging and you will experience failures on your journey but know this; failures are your friends and not your foes.  They are there to teach you and remind you to push even harder and wiser.  Once you overcome your challenges and failures then they become your new benchmark in life and provide a newer meaning in your life.

Don’t be afraid to start something new. You don’t need to know everything in whatever you want to do.  That will be learn during the journey.  You just need to take that first step and find a coach or mentor that has been there and help guide you through the challenges.  They aren’t there to do the challenge for you but mostly that voice that will help push you through your thoughts and beliefs.  They’ve seen the other side of overcoming challenges and they are there to welcome you once to the few that reach that success.  Everyday is a new day to learn and push yourself further in your growth and development.  If you are happy in life, you won’t be experiencing what you are experiencing now without the sacrifices made by you yesterday.  So thank yourself daily and have that passion to make tomorrow even more amazing and meaningful!

God Bless,

Ryan Jarata

“In between goals is a thing called life, that has to be lived and enjoyed.” – Sid Caesar

Greetings Family & Friends,

TGIF!  Hope you are having a wonderful day.  Wife is working tonight so I’m bonding with my two sons.  With all the work I did this week and last weekend it is always a great escape to just relax with your family. A wonderful way to refresh your purpose in life and feed that hunger to go out and push yourself further past your limits.  Life is worth living when you share it with the ones you love the most.  Life can be very challenging at times but it is part of the learning and growing.  I need this brief downtime to get the body healed a bit.  Combat workouts get me all the time so it was a challenge to push for more reps and stay in form with my exercises.  I just did the minimum 60 min worth of workout today.  Going to see if I will be able to get some yoga in when my two boys are asleep.

The week was filled with a lot of information and constant growth.  There are some ‘AHA’ moments during this week and last weekend that has me more focus then ever. The 6 Critical Elements taught by Coach Roberto Erario will now be my system to make sure that all aspects of my life are in alignment for results.  It was a new way of looking at life and be proactive at improving myself.  I will implement it also in my program and help those who want to be healthy and fit to be more engaged with themselves.  In order for me to succeed in life, I need you to succeed in what you want to achieve.

Week#2 of 3 will be ending really soon and Measurement Monday is a few days away.  The scale that we use isn’t totally accurate with our weight but I’m about 2 lbs light from the Week#1.  I need to work extra hard this weekend and do the most I can to be stronger in exercising and staying focussed with my daily meals.  My goal for Monday will be to get down to 172.5 lbs and maybe around 2 – 5 inches smaller all around.  Tough task, yes, but attainable…. yes!  I just need to believe in myself and just simple push myself harder and stay more focus on the meals.  It is easier this time around is because I am not alone.  I have teammates to challenge me and keep me focused to push through.  I ready for this and I’m worth the investment!

Day 11 of 21: Fight Another Day

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone had an amazing Throwback Thursday.  I don’t have a lot pictures of the pasts or simple figuring out how to scan them… lol. Today is another bust with the meal planning.  Had an occasion at work so it would be rude to refuse offered food.  Ate lunch with my bestman so we needed to catch up on our progress and news.  Trevor, wanted McDonalds after school so I ended up getting a grilled chicken McWrap.  Went back up to 179.2 lbs after that adventure.  Though I needed to step up today with my workouts, I still don’t regret creating memories and bonding with my son.  Eating alone is much worse than eating with family & friends.

That is the past now and I can just focus on this moment.  I won’t worry too much on the future. I just need to realize that I am getting closer to my goals and dreams when I focus on what I need to do right now towards them.  Have to keep reminding yourself on your purpose and whys to draw strength from within.  Life will always try to keep you locked into your current reality but it isn’t your permanent reality.  We are only sojourners in this life and are moving towards something better for us.  We just need to strive hard to develop ourselves to ascend to a higher level of ourselves.  Like mentioned from yesterday’s post, we need to take a proactive approach to plan, implement & review our direction in life on a daily basis.  Each day that is given to us we should plan the day before we even head out the front door of our home.  Trying our best to stay on course with that plan and then review to make the necessary improvements to be stronger and better than yesterday.  Our growth is very important.

Do your very best to achieve your goals.  Try something new if you reach a plateau in your development.  Trying to force your belief and finding no results is foolish.  Prove yourself wrong on the negatives and embrace those that provide you growth.  We try to live in denial without experiencing it.  And we experiencing something and fail we should have a 2nd opinion from someone that is ahead of us.  Someone that is doing what we want to do in the future and not those that agrees with your failure.  It isn’t always true unless we let it.  Taking advice from someone with theory instead of someone with experience & has overcome that experience can vastly slow your progress.  Investing in yourself is automatic to achieve success and developing a new version of you to retain that success.  It isn’t winning the lottery, it’s about winning that lottery and doubling it more through your constant development.  You are so worth it so don’t let challenges get you down.  Fight another day and the rest is history!

Day 10 of 21: Are you Aligned with your Goals?

Standard

“You can have results or you can have your excuses. You cannot have both.” – Unkown

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope you guys had an awesome ‘Hump Day’!  Just got home from a Meetup group for Real Estate.  I want to continue the momentum from last weekend to stay motivated and hopefully that next step into investing in real estate.  The first guest speaker was amazing with his presentation on succeeding in different aspects of your life and that is why I have named this post under what he presented.  I will go into detail in the next paragraph but I will now switch over to my health and fitness progress.  Yesterday, it looks like I took a .6 lbs step back from my lowest of 177 to a 2.6 lbs step ahead today! Yes!  This morning I weighed in at 175.6 lbs to start out the day.  It’s more likely up today from my meal plan and not able to do more workouts tonight but I’m happy with the results so far and want to keep that wonderful state of mind.  I took the next step this morning and went to the new Walmart in New Westminster and purchased a set of 15 lbs.  Those will be my new heavy set and my last heavy set of 10 lbs will now be my light weights to switch between exercises.  Trust me when I say that it killed my leg days workout…. lol.  But to every pain comes the opportunity to rise from it.  It will become the new norm after week 2 of exercising.

Going back to the presentation from the guest speaker, Roberto Erario, it gave me more content to enhance myself and laser focus my purpose in life and making sure that every though, action and growth are aligned with my purpose.  Like I’ve mention in the past or previous posts is that it isn’t enough just to say that, “I will lose 10 lbs!’ or “I want to be healthy!’  You have to put a overwhelming meaning why you are doing it in the first place.  Is it for your family?  Did you have a life altering experience? Or ‘are you sick and tired’ of ‘being sick and tired?!’  Whatever your personal reasons maybe, it must consume you when you may stumble from your path and journey.  Only then you can you make the necessary actions and beliefs to start your journey and relaying that message to others what purpose and/or journey you are on.  Every though, behavior and action may dictate how your journey will begin and how the world will see you on your journey.  If you think negative thoughts then it will reflect in the communications that you will have with others.  They may support you or bring you down even more when you don’t have the conviction to stand behind your words.  First impression may become everlasting to new and old people in your life or will cross your path.  So get yourself together if you want to succeed in life.

It is funny how things line up.  I get quotes, readings and audio from different sources and add it to my posts of the day.  For me, the name of this post comes from different sources but aligned enough to deliver the same lesson.  What Roberto mention, “You are what you belief is true to you.”  If you can’t do it then that is true to you.  If you can’t find a boy/girl friend then that is also true to you.  But once you start believing that you are wrong with your beliefs then the world will open up to you and you will start seeing progressions in different aspects you use this system for.  Whether it is business, you fitness or in life.  You can re-wire yourself and choose to think the opposite of how you are feeling or what is holding you back.  The end of 2015 is upon us.  When to fitness, if you are already happy with where you are then disregard this message.  But if you haven’t achieved your New Year resolution, then you need to try something new in order to finish the year strong and have a new version of yourself.  I’m here to help guide you with the system I use to change my life.  Are you willing to take that chance and sacrifice one month to me?  The choice is up to you to believe or not.  The future is your to live!

God Bless,

Ryan Jarata
