Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday!  Another long day at work again.  My body simple crashed yesterday from exhaustion.  Ended up sleeping 10 hrs straight and breaking some of my daily streaks.  I’ll have to double up in the next few days to catch up.  This is my final week for the March Challenge Group and I need to finish strong.

Luckily, tomorrow is the last day of work so I can catch up on my training.  I don’t want to start making a habit of missing my workouts and my meditation.  It goes hand in hand to get stronger and heal each day for tomorrow.  We are all unique but we should strive to get better each day at what we love to do.  Regardless of what the situation is, we need to find ways to  keep moving forward.  Our situation is not unique because there has been someone that has been through it.  We just need to strive to find answers to our challenge and stage in life.

Our life may not be duplicated by others but portions of our life has been walked by someone else.  We owe it to ourselves to give us the best situation by seeking out help & answers.  We may pray as we should but action is required in return.  Do the best you can each day and finish strong.  You shouldn’t even regret about the day before you head to bed.  When you can put a smile on your face then you have accomplished your mission today!

MARCH 21, 2016 JOURNAL: DAY 13-15 OF 21 DAY FIX MARCH CHALLENGE

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone had a great start to their Monday.  It was a very busy day for me at work today.  Had a lot of staff off and on vacation but I survived.  Hopefully, tomorrow/tonight will be early freight.  Part of working the cardio and battling the inner voices to give up.  Not today for me.

Went on my 3rd run for the year on Saturday.  It was a short 20 mins with an uphill climb.  I’m going to need a lot of work in order to get ready for the Vancouver Sun Run.  I’m not sore which is good.  I even helped pick-up furniture from a friend’s house to another friend’s house and that was an up hill climb from the house to the street.  Gotta love those house along the mountain side in West Vancouver.

My cardio is going to need a lot of work to last at least one hour.  If I want to beat my 1:00:07 time last year, I need to really get moving and raising my workouts.  I already switched to 10 lbs & 15 lbs sets on Saturday so hopefully it will add up all the way to April 17th.  It’s a battle to have my entire being into this.  The workout is improving but my mind & body sometimes wanna take an off night.  Though the scale doesn’t tell the story, I know I’m getting stronger.

Hopefully, the weather will be better tomorrow so I can get a run in again.  Either way, I will attempt to get my workout up to 1 hr on this final week to March Challenge Group.  It hasn’t been the best run for meal planning but I’m trying my best to stick to my Shakeology and not taking any fast food.  Just gotta take it one day at a time, one shake at a time and one workout at a time.  Be your best this spring!

MARCH 18, 2016 JOURNAL: DAY 12 OF 21 DAY FIX MARCH CHALLENGE

Greetings Family & Friends,

TGIF!  Hope everyone had a freakingly awesome Friday!  Props goes out to my fitness & high school friend, Shalyn!  She challenged herself this morning on a 17+ KM run from Canada Place, around Stanley Park and finished off at Science World.  The most I did was 10 KM with the Vancouver Sun Run last year so I’m very to run with her this coming Vancouver Sun Run.

Feeling stronger everyday. Eating plan still needs a little work but we do what we can with prices increasing on fruits and vegetables.  I remember last week when these became a struggle for me.  Finishing the Cardio Fix Workout felt a little easy so I had to do more reps and try more challenging modifiers.  You gotta experiment and push the envelop towards a better version of you.  That is all you can do is improve from yesterday.

This will be my last blog for the week.  I will continue with my workout this week and squeeze in a run to see how I do.  I hope everyone will have an amazing weekend and try new things, new experiments, to better themselves.  Never stay comfortable when you want to have an amazing life!

MARCH 17, 2016 JOURNAL: DAY 11 OF 21 DAY FIX MARCH CHALLENGE

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thursday.  Had another half day at work again. Josephine is on her last day shift today and then two night shifts tomorrow and Saturday.  It is part of our life right now to work our schedules around but part of the sacrifices we have to make for the future.  Though we both have schedules that keep changing we don’t let it interfere with our March Fitness Challenge.  Summer is a few months away so training starts early rather when it hits Summer time.

We too don’t enjoy training a lot or taking out the joys of eating but we too enjoy the lifestyle that comes when we commit to our health and fitness.  You just be able to do more, enjoy more and also have peace of mind not worrying what others think.  Though we shouldn’t let people dictate how we should life.  It is very important to do our part and make a effort as well.  No one will tell us or make us stay on top of our health and fitness so it is solely our journey to take.

What are you doing to stay on top of your health and fitness.  Has your current routine worked for you and getting you to newer goals?  Great! If it has, but if it hasn’t worked out for you then you should really consider trying something new.  Yes, it will be a struggle and it maybe painful a few days after but you have the rest of your life to enjoy better if you make those sacrifices to level up yourself.  In order to be a champion, you must act like a champion and do what it takes to become and stay a champion.

MARCH 16, 2016 JOURNAL: DAY 10 OF 21 DAY FIX MARCH CHALLENGE

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone had a Wonderful Wednesday.  It was a short work day for me with Josephine starting her rotation with her day shift.  It was easy day at work with early flights.  Always good when freight is early.  You get an early start to everything and you don’t need to stress over deadlines.

Carrying over from yesterdays blog.  It also helped me to get into the habit and getting daily tasks done early than later.  Though I have Tristan and also Trevor who is on Spring Break, I was able to get some daily tasks completed.  Especially, tasks that revolve on developing myself.  Though I heard this strategy from my real estate mentor, Brian, regarding setting up goals it was a good reminder to reverse engineer your goals.  Have your goal setup but break it down to smaller goals on how to achieve it.  Creating smaller goals from where you want to be to where you are now.  The most important step from the video I watch was to focus on one task.  Find the one goal that must be done first before the rest.

We all try to multi-task and we have no choice sometimes because that is what life demands of us.  But is it setting us up for success is the question? Especially, a healthy one.  Our minds are stressed over completing the all the tasks that we set for the day instead of quality of completing the task.  We tend to show how much we can do or how much they can squeeze out of us that we don’t do a good enough job that it propels us to bigger goals or projects.  Goals are very important but how we get there and how much effort we put towards each goal is very important.  We only have 24 hours a day.  If it was up to me, I would want to destroy one goal at a time rather than bring 2 to 7 goals up at a time.  Hence, life doesn’t let us have that option but who really is in control?

If this is your situation then you have given up your power to someone else or thing.  You are not in control of your life anymore and that is a problem.  You have focused yourself on surviving the day rather than planning for the future.  Wishing for the day when you will reach your goal rather knowing when you will reach your goal.  I am on that boat as well with some of my goals.  The ones I’m stressed about is taken care of with systems and professional help.  The goals for my growth and development is the ones I need to create or reverse engineer.

We all have goals to be healthy and fit but how we will achieve that we are lacking.  It isn’t just simply finding free time and having the right situation to do it but scheduling for it and just devoting your entire being into it.  So you really have to decide what one thing you need to do now and destroy it before you move on to the next thing.  Once you develop a system and habit to completing your goal than you can move on to the next one.  Don’t be the Jack of All Trades or tasks but the Master of None.  Finish one goal at a time.

MARCH 15, 2016 JOURNAL: DAY 9 OF 21 DAY FIX MARCH CHALLENGE

Greetings Family and Friends,

Hope you had a terrific Tuesday.  It was a busy day at work for me but I survived it.  It did get to me though but it is just these things that remind you why you are working hard for and towards.  We can’t change people. We can only change ourselves and how we deal with it.  Once you are able to control your side of the field you have the power for creation.

Yesterday’s measurements didn’t show much change.  In fact, it went the other way… lol.  It is, what it is and we all know what we can do to do better.  Food control still not at 100%.  I am getting stronger on my workouts and after this week I can up my weights and add more workouts.  I also need to continue to work on myself and not listen to the fatigue after a long day at work.  That is my biggest enemy so far is a lengthy R & R after work.  Once I can do that then I can do my late work right after work and head to bed early.  Little changes create Big changes and permanent habits.

It takes time to build a better version of you. We tend to look for instant results and that is normal.  We are only human and our body craves a positive state of being. We just can’t beat ourselves over it.  You can’t be hard on yourself for failure or missing a day.  Yes, it sucks.  Get back on it the next day and work on yourself.  That is all to it.  Work on one thing until you get good at it to the point you are a specialist.  Then move on to the next phase of your growth.  You owe it to yourself to experience what you are truly capable of doing.

March 14, 2016 Journal: Day 8 of 21 Day Fix March Challenge

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope you are having a marvelous Monday.  One week under my belt and I’m feeling great.  Though my increase in weight doesn’t do justice to how I feel but I’m getting stronger and less sore.  My weights feel lights so I can up it next week.  I just need to do my measurements today and see how I did and a photo and I can compare the physical results.

I have much to do before I can get ready for the Vancouver Sun Run & the BMO Full Marathon.  I need to start upping my runs from here on out and test out my cardio.  I also need to match my mental focus with my body.  I still listen to the voices of my old habits and need to stay on track and push forward.  We are our worst enemy and I know I’ve swayed many times on my journey.  Just need to remember why I need to do this and keep moving forward to a better me and a better father & husband.

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone had a Super Saturday!  Had an awesome time with my co-workers today. Had lunch with 6 of my co-workers today at Wings.  Good laughs & a fun time all around.  Though today is a wash for eating right, I still did my workouts and Shakeology this morning.  Did my meditation this morning.  Always good to incorporate meditation in your day.  With all the stuff we have to deal in everyday life, we need to give our mind, body and soul some down time and heal.  There is no point in constantly pushing yourself on a daily basis if you are just going to burn out and end up taking time off. It only takes 30 mins a day to create these beneficial habits.

I’m really glad that I am able to workout for 6 days straight.  It really hard to get started after you take some time off from exercising.  I have to scale down my weights from 10s & 15s lbs to 8s & 10s.  The Vancouver Sun Run & the BMO Full Marathon is around the corner so that is what keeps me going.  Having a challenge group helps a lot keeping me accountable.  Luckily, this time around I am not feeling the painful soreness and being sick like I was last month and last week.  I’m hoping I will be able to sustain this into the summer and the rest of my life.

March 10, 2016 Journal: Day 3-4 of 21 Day Fix March Challenge

Greetings Family & Friends,

Hope everyone had an awesome Thursday.  I wasn’t able to log in last night because I got home late after an evening Meetup gathering with ‘Earning Passive Income through Real Estate’ group.  This is one of two monthly meetings that I attend to pursue my passion for real estate investing.  It was a wonderful wealth of knowledge last night about home inspection and other excellent information to make me wiser on investing.  It was also wonderful to network with new people and hear their life story.  It’s extra motivation for me to keep going and prepare for the future.

With the wonderful meeting I had last night, I ended up getting home around 1130 pm.  I need to get my workout in so I decided to do that first than blog.  I’m still feeling the soreness from Wednesday’s Leg Days.  But today, I’m getting stronger and that is the important thing from the pain.  It isn’t stopping me but building me up day by day.  I also needed to do my meditation last night after the workout so that only gave me 30 mins to sleep before my 3 am work schedule.  Thank goodness, I didn’t skip the meditation because I would have felt the full effect of lack of sleep.  I was still yawning here and there this morning but I wasn’t dosing off.  I was able to stay alert and perform my tasks.  I am very grateful to my co-worker for introducing this method of meditation to me.  I wish to share this to my network who believe that meditation will help them heal their overall being.

I just finished up on my Pilates and my Shakeology drink.  I wasn’t able to do my morning routine because I was squeezing time to get some sleep.  Luckily, I only had half a shift today so I was able to sleep after I dropped Trevor to school.  It puts my routines out of order and how busy my life is, sleep is an essential element to do what you need to do on a daily basis.  If you can’t enough of it today than schedule it tomorrow.  Even machines breakdown if they don’t get the chance to cooldown so your body is no different.  Invest in yourself but do it safely.  Wherever you are and whatever situation you are in, strive to be better everyday because they all add up in the future.  Document yourself and see how much changes you’ve created on your journey.  If you miss this simple task, it is very easy to go back to how you do things.  You owe it to yourself and your love ones to make it your journey to investing in yourself.
